The most famous Danube station in Dürnstein is back in operation!

Since the weekend, the boat landing stage under the blue abbey tower in Dürnstein, which was battered by the floods, has been back in operation and can be used by regional scheduled shipping services.

This landing dock had been out of service since the flood in September 2024. A spectacular operation with a 70-tonne heavy-duty crane on the narrow access road made it possible to integrate the new bridge and the renovated scabbards into the repaired jetty. The refurbished pontoon was transported from the harbour in Krems to Dürnstein on the MS Austria. The integration of the system required a great deal of dexterity from everyone at this difficult nautical location. Everything went well. Now it is ready for the ships again, probably the most photographed Danube station in Austria!
